Let's make Chicken Parmesan Baked Ziti!
1 lb. ziti
you'll need to reserve ~1/2 cup starchy pasta water so be sure to reserve that before you drain the pasta
cube boneless skinless chicken breasts into small pieces and cook in a nonstick skillet in a little olive oil
basic seasonings: salt, pepper and Italian seasoning.
the chicken pieces are cut up small so they cook fast, which helps bring this dish together quickly!
while the chicken and pasta cooks, get the cheese ready! Mozzarella, ricotta and Parmesan
fresh parm and mozz = way to go!
add in pasta sauce. Jar works for ease, use homemade if that's your jam! I used about 1 1/2 of these jars
use your favorite jarred sauce!
add in the reserved starchy pasta water at this step too
allow to simmer.
fairly large Pyrex/casserole dish needed. This is a 4.8 qt size.
if you only have a standard 9x13 use a little less pasta so it fits
pour chicken/sauce mixture into dish. pour noodles on top followed by ricotta and basil, mix.
stir it all together!
should look somewhat like this. all creamy and delicious!
cook at 400F for 20 min with foil on, then remove foil and broil a couple minutes.
